I am a qualified back care professional able to offer gentle yet effective exercise sessions to relieve non-specific low back pain. These are always taught one-to-one so that each lesson specifically addresses the needs of the individual. I have undertaken extensive training exclusively related to exercise referral and exercises to alleviate chronic low back pain. This training has been externally accredited by the Register of Exercise Professionals who oversee standards for the health and fitness industry. Practitioners are graded as Level 4, Specialist Instructor.
The exercises are slow and controlled Pilates based movements which develop the muscles that support the spine and improve flexibility of the spine. Homework is given and additional physical activity is encouraged. Keeping active and learning to self-manage your back are central to the approach. Occasionally it is necessary to liaise with your medical practitioner for which permission will always be sought.
